Glad you explained about the electric company. I probably would have figured it out eventually, but nice that I didn't have too! LOL I've seen similar crazy prunings in our area. I guess it is better than cutting down the tree--and a testament to how adaptive nature is.

Keeps the limbs from falling on the wires. Of course, not sure what a donut cut is supposed to do. :)
