Double Happiness

Actually, I have no idea if the carvings in this architectural detail have any meaning. I do remember that while we were in China, anytime we asked the meaning of some symbol, we were usually told "Double Happiness". This photo is from the Classical Chinese Garden in Portland.

This is quite fascinating. I almost see 2 hearts side by side. They appear to be at the end of some grid or grill.

To me the pic says a great deal. Perhaps love is what life journeys are all about.

More and more, I'm getting into discovering and photographing obscure architectural details. We often miss things such as this because we are not accustomed to taking the time to seek on the micro level.

Double happiness to you! Double is better than single I suppose.
