Nathan Smith resides in Portland, Oregon along with his wife Lisa, two sons Cameron and Zack, and daughter Eliana.
Far more than just a graphic designer, Nathan's experience in strategic thinking, event planning, and personnel management have proven his effective leadership over the past ten years. At his core, Nathan is a problem solver or, as he likes to put it, a "Creative Solutions Consultant", always carefully considering the issues and finding a better way. Whether in art or leadership, he continually finds himself playing the role of "sensemaker", one who creates clarity from chaos.
Nathan currently serves as a Writer/Design Specialist for Portland Rescue Mission, a non-proft agency bringing hope and total life transformation to the homeless, addicted, hungry, and hurting. There he uses his writing skills, creativity, love of photography, and eye for design to help the Mission communicate more effectively. His passion for clarity and commitment to excellence continue to deliver successful projects and events time after time.
In addition to his non-profit experience, Nathan has also run his own graphic design business. Crossmark Design began in 2001 and quickly grew from website design to include branding solutions, promotional items, signage, product packaging, and more.
Nathan's computer skills include advanced database programming in Microsoft Access as well as considerable knowledge in all types of industry-standard software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, InDesign, Quark XPress, Dreamweaver, Flash, Cinema 4D, Microsoft Office and more).
He has developed strong written and verbal communication skills, in-depth knowledge of personality types, and the ability to inspire and direct others.
